How to Seal a Lid

The most common problem you will come across when using used kegs is a lid that won’t seal. That doesn’t necessarily mean you have a defective keg. All of our kegs are leak tested prior to shipment which means the keg was able to hold a seal here. Here are some suggestions to try if your lid seems to be leaking:

  • Use a little food grade lube on the o-ring prior to sealing
  • Pressurize with 20 – 30 psi initially then back off the pressure
  • Twist the lid back and forth under pressure to find the “sweet spot”
Here is a short video showing the process.
